Uber Eats // Jim Courier, Courier
In Australia, the Australian Open isn’t just another sporting event; it’s the cultural peak of summer, the closest thing we have to our own Super Bowl... And we were tasked with becoming the tournament's most talked-about brand. No biggy.
So when we asked ourselves who could deliver on a brief that big, the answer was staring us right in the face. The one name synonymous with both tennis and delivery. Jim Courier.
For this campaign, we indulged in a little revisionist history to reveal where Jim’s true passion has always been hiding (spoiler: it’s literally in his surname). What if the voice of the Australian Open wasn’t just calling the action… but finally answering his destiny?
// Teaser Stunt
To plant the seed and get people talking in the lead up to the Australian Open, Jim Courier was spotted riding around Melbourne dressed as an Uber Eats courier much to the confusion of everyone. The Daily Mail even published a story with footage of Courier's new found calling.
// OOH
Large format OOH billboards were plastered all over Melbourne, from the airport to the Rod Laver Arena, during the Australian Open. The tennis inspired delivery occasion headlines perfectly captured Jim Courier's dad-jokey tone.
