Peter Defries and Alan Wilson are an ECD team that have worked together for almost 15 years and like each other enough to have moved continents together twice.
In 2025 they returned to Sydney from almost a decade in New York where they most notably headed up the FMCG giant The J.M Smucker Company at BBH. During their time on the account they lead some of the most breakthrough, effective, and award-winning work for iconic American brands like Jif, Milk Bone, Meow Mix, Dunkin, Smucker’s, Twinkies, Folger’s and many more.
Most recently they lead the Uber APAC business at Special Sydney where they built on the huge success of previous years with brand campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Taiwan. They launched Uber Mobility’s first brand platform in almost a decade ‘Can’t Do That If You’re Driving’ and continued Uber Eats' run of successful campaigns with ‘The Man Laroi’ and one of the most beloved Australian Open campaigns to date: ‘Jim Courier, Courier’.
They’ve been recognised with over 30 international awards including D&AD, Cannes, Effies, One Show, Clios and AWARD. Additionally, their “Famous Cars” Super Bowl spot for Walmart was recently named the “16th best Super Bowl commercial of all time” by CBS. And in 2022, D&AD ranked them both among the Top 20 Executive Creative Directors in the world.
